Nine rules can be limited by country: Require house numbers, Require apartment/suite numbers, Block P.O. boxes, Validate postal code format, Block DHL pickup points, Block postal codes, Limit characters per field, Block special characters, and Custom rule (REGEX).
- Open Address Ninja from Apps in your Shopify admin and click the rule name.
- In the Countries card, choose All countries, Only these countries, or Except these countries.
- For Only these countries or Except these countries, click Search countries, type a country name, and select it. Each country appears as a tag. Click the x on a tag to remove it.
- Click Save and turn on. If the rule is already on, click Save in the bar at the top.
Limit characters per field, Block special characters, and Custom rule (REGEX) have no Countries card. Each limit, character list, or pattern has its own Countries choice with the same three options.
Block postal codes has no Countries card either. In the Postal codes to block card, use the Add a country field to add a country, then enter the codes in the field for that country. You can add up to 20 countries. The rule applies only to the countries you add.
Turn on does not work while Only these countries has no country. The card shows "Choose at least one country." Add a country, then try again.
Block malformatted DHL and meineinkauf.ch format have a fixed country and cannot be limited.
If you chose countries for a rule before this feature, the rule keeps those countries and shows them under Only these countries. Nothing changes at checkout until you save a rule.
