To add a Pfand bottle deposit fee, create a fixed fee for the bottles or containers you sell. Follow these steps:
- In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Apps and open Magical Product Fees.
- Click Create fee.
- Choose the Function Method.
- Enter a title like “Bottle Deposit Fee” or “Pfand.”
- Add a description for the fee your customers will see at checkout.
- Under Type, select Product.
- In the Calculation section, choose Fixed amount and enter the deposit amount.
- Set the fee to apply to Every product.
- For bundling, select Matching Product so the fee is linked to the correct item.
- Under product selection, choose Specific products or Specific collections and pick the bottles that require the fee.
- If you need the fee to apply by location, add location conditions.
- Click Save.
This will add a bottle deposit fee to the right products in your store.

This meets regulatory transparency requirements, builds customer trust by showing exactly what they're paying, and makes it significantly easier to track deposits for reporting and audits. Use a clear label like "Bottle deposit" or "Container deposit (CRV)" so customers immediately understand the charge.
