What Types of Offers Exist with Make an Offer?

There are two main types of offers you can use with Make an Offer on Shopify: automated offers and manual offers. ​

Automated Offers: Automated offers let you set rules so offers are automatically accepted, declined, or countered based on the amount offered. For example, you could accept any offer that’s at least 80% of the product’s price. This is a big time-saver for busy stores, since it filters out low offers and gives customers instant responses. ​

Manual Offers: Manual offers are reviewed by the merchant before accepting, declining, or countering. Some store owners prefer this approach to get a better sense of customer behavior, update their pricing strategies, or build relationships with high-value customers. Manual review is also useful for products with prices that change frequently, or for high-value items where security is a concern. ​

Most merchants find automation helpful, but there are times when handling offers manually makes sense for certain products or situations.
