How to create multiple fees for different products with Magical Fees

Stephen Smith·help

You can create separate fees for different products in just a few steps.

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Apps and select Magical Product Fees.
  2. Click** Create Fee.**
  3. Select a method (we recommend Function Method for most use cases).
  4. Give the fee a clear name like “Bottle Deposit” or “Oversize Handling”.
  5. Select Product as the fee type. Then choose if the fee is a fixed amount or a percentage.
  6. Select Specific products in the conditions section and click Browse to select the products you want the fee to apply to.
  7. Click Save when you’re done.

Repeat these steps for each fee you want to create. Each one can be customized to match the right products and the same products can be used in multiple fees.

Always label deposits separately for compliance

Display bottle deposit fees as a clearly labeled, separate line item at checkout and on receipts. This meets regulatory transparency requirements, builds customer trust by showing exactly what they're paying, and makes it significantly easier to track deposits for reporting and audits. Use a clear label like "Bottle deposit" or "Container deposit (CRV)" so customers immediately understand the charge.

Magical Fees is the only fee app that allows you to apply a fee based on a specific or individual state/province situation. All the other apps we tested only allow 'Location' (the entire country) which is a major limitation. The solution Magical Fees applies during the Cart to Checkout process is very smart and not a hassle. Very easy app to setup and the support was great.
