If you are not seeing the expected fees when you add a product to the cart, it’s a good idea to check if your product matches the fee conditions you set.
Here’s how to review and check your fee:
- In your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Apps and open Magical Product Fees.
- Find the fee you want to review and click to open it.
- If you're using Specific collections review the collection in the Shopify Admin to make sure the product is in that collection.
- If you're using Specific products make sure the product is listed and that the specific variant you are checking is selected.
- If you're using Custom conditions set for that fee:
- Make sure the “Products must match” setting is correct for your needs. Choose “any condition” if you want the fee to apply more broadly.
- Double check that the product meets all the conditions. All values are case sensitive.
- Make sure Product Type, Product Vendor, Product Tag, Option Name, and Option Value on the fee match your product’s details and what is selected in the cart.
Reviewing these details will help ensure your fees apply to the right products.
Always label deposits separately for compliance
Display bottle deposit fees as a clearly labeled, separate line item at checkout and on receipts. This meets regulatory transparency requirements, builds customer trust by showing exactly what they're paying, and makes it significantly easier to track deposits for reporting and audits. Use a clear label like "Bottle deposit" or "Container deposit (CRV)" so customers immediately understand the charge.
“Magical Fees is the only fee app that allows you to apply a fee based on a specific or individual state/province situation. All the other apps we tested only allow 'Location' (the entire country) which is a major limitation. The solution Magical Fees applies during the Cart to Checkout process is very smart and not a hassle. Very easy app to setup and the support was great.”
