Where can I see the answers submitted by customers to a order form field?
You can view them in the Shopify admin under Orders or you can export a CSV document.
Can I export Orders with the Order Form Field options?
Yes. You can export all orders that contain Order form field options.
Can order fields answers be included with Shopify Order export spreadsheets?
No. Magical Order Form Fields uses Line Item Properties for answers submitted to the fields. Line Item Properties are not part of Shopify's native Order export functionality. However, you can export order options from within Magical Order Form Fields.
Can I display a title for the Order Form Fields?
Yes. You can add a title when creating a form group and display it within the App block.
I cannot activate the fields app block because app blocks are not available in the theme I use. What should I do?
This may require adding the order form fields code to the file /snippets/product-form.liquid in your theme. Please refer to the Add order form fields to theme template heading for instructions on how to do this and/or reach out to customer support and we can help set this up.
Can order form fields be displayed outside of Product pages (ex. Pages, Blogs)?
Starter Plan
No, order form fields can currently only be added to product pages.
Growth Plan (Shopify Plus only)
Yes, fields can also be added to the checkout.
Does this app work with accelerated checkout methods?
Yes, order form fields are compatible with accelerated checkout methods in the cart and checkout, but not from product pages.
Does this app work with dynamic checkout buttons?
No, order form fields are NOT compatible with dynamic checkout buttons on product pages.
Is there a character limit on the Label field?
Yes, but only for cart fields (Shopify Plus, app Growth Plan only). Minimum 3, maximum 30 characters. If you input less than three characters, additional underscores (ex. A__) will be added to your Label.
Can existing fields for field groups be duplicated?
- Fields: No. It is not currently possible to duplicate existing fields within a field group. All fields must be manually constructed.- Field Groups: Yes. Field groups can be duplicated from the field groups page. You can use this to create a new field group that is similar to an existing field group.
Does this app integrate with Shopify POS (Point of Sale)?
No. Magical Order Form Fields does not currently have a POS extension to add order form fields to an order. Additionally, online orders viewed in the POS do not show line item properties (answers from the fields).
What file types does the File Upload field type support?
Supported file types: jpg, jpeg, png, gif, mov, avi, mpg, 3gp, 3g2, midi, mid, pdf, doc, ppt, odt, pptx, docx, pps, ppsx, xls, xlsx, key, mp3, ogg, wma, m4a, wav, mp4, m4v, webm, ogv, wmv, vcf, and flv.
Can I add a product to a field?
Yes, you can add a product variant to field with options. This can be used for add-on or upsell products like gift wrapping. Checkbox, Multiple Choice and Dropdown fields support the product attachment option.
How do attached products get added to the cart?
When you attach a product to an option, it will automatically be added to the cart whenever a customer selects that option from the online store.
Can I add an additional price to a field?
Yes, you can add a fixed or percentage amount to a field with options. This can be used for things like adding a surcharge to product or a customization fee. Checkbox, Multiple Choice and Dropdown fields support the paid option.
How do paid fields get added to the cart?
When you make an option a paid field, it will automatically be added to the cart whenever a customer selects that option from the online store. When using a percentage paid field the amount is calculated as a percentage of the current product when it is added to the cart.
Can I use product attachments to have add-on or upsell products in my checkout.
No, product attachments are currently only available to product-based fields.
All of my orders have the 'Magical Form Fields' tag. Is there a way to remove this?
At this time, it is not possible to remove the tags.
