Google Shopping and Magical Fees: Important Limitations
Google requires that the price shown in your Shopping ad exactly matches the final price at checkout, including all required fees.
Magical Fees does not support dynamic fee pricing for Google Shopping. Fees added at checkout through our app are not included in your product feed, which can lead to disapproved listings or account issues.
Unsupported Workarounds (Use at Your Own Risk)
While not officially supported by Magical Fees, some merchants use the following approaches:
- **Pre-bake fees into product pricing. **Manually increase product prices in Shopify or in your feed to reflect expected fees.
- **Use a feed tool that supports conditional pricing. **Some merchants use third-party Google Shopping feed solutions available in the Shopify App Store to set region-specific or condition-based pricing. These tools require custom setup and do not integrate directly with Magical Fees.
- **Exclude affected products from Shopping ads. **Use tags or collections to remove products with dynamic fees from your Google feed.
If your business relies on fee-inclusive pricing in Google Shopping, these options may help, but they are not guaranteed and are not integrated with Magical Fees.
Always label deposits separately for compliance
Display bottle deposit fees as a clearly labeled, separate line item at checkout and on receipts. This meets regulatory transparency requirements, builds customer trust by showing exactly what they're paying, and makes it significantly easier to track deposits for reporting and audits. Use a clear label like "Bottle deposit" or "Container deposit (CRV)" so customers immediately understand the charge.
